Description
I have quite a number of images on my favorites' list from many wonderful artists here on FAA. I use them for inspiration. I start out believing I can make something similar. Sometimes I try to copy the technique to see if I can master it, but I never wish to make an exact copy of someone else's art. The artist has already made the perfect original so why try to make another one? Most of the time I get lost while I'm working and add so much of my own stuff that it has very little in common with the original piece anyway. I think this is one of the greatest things about art. It inspires you to do your own thing!
One of my favourite images is a photo of a bobbin and a needle, and it gave me the inspiration to make this piece here.

I love what you have written in your description, Randi! While others may be offended by someone using their creative ideas, I feel that using someone else's idea as an inspiration is the highest form of flattery, and because we are all different individuals, our own personality and skills will influence our work and make it uniquely our own. Love the framing and texture you have used here! And the blood red is a wonderfully bold touch! V

Love the definitive grunge frame! Sew fabric, yes, an established practice, but have you ever tried sewing nanoseconds...? Also, if you sow nanoseconds, do they grow into seconds? Great piece, Randi! F&V#9
