Description
These onions will not make you cry! On the wall in a kitchen or restaurant they will just be awesome!
Onions are cultivated and used around the world. As a foodstuff they are usually served cooked, as a vegetable or part of a prepared savoury dish, but can also be eaten raw or used to make pickles or chutneys. They are pungent when chopped and contain certain chemical substances which irritate the eyes. Onions contain phenolics and flavonoids that have potential anti-inflammatory, anti-cholesterol, anticancer and antioxidant properties.
I'm proud to tell you that out of all the entries into the contest "1000 Photos of Food" where only 24 photos will be framed and exhibited at prestigious Borough Market, London my, photo "Onions" has been chosen!
http://award.io/story.php?id=2508
To celebrate 1000 years of Borough Market, photographers were invited to submit creative photos showing food, or how surplus food can be a creative solution to alleviate food poverty. This is an initiative to fundraise and all the money will be donated to Plan Zheroes Charity, to help connect businesses with surplus food to local charities that need it.
