How the Snow got its Color
Once upon a time when the earth was new, all things had color. The sky was blue, the grass was green and all the beautiful flowers were glowing with colors in the sunlight. Only one thing was still blank and colorless; the snow. He wandered from flower to flower to ask as nicely as he could if he could have some of their color.
First he went to the bluebell.
- Dear, beautiful bluebell, could you give me a bit of your blue?
The bluebell shuddered and turned her flowers away from the cold snow.
- No, I want it for myself!
Then the snow went to buttercup.
- Dear shiny buttercup, could you give me some of your golden-yellow color?
The buttercup disliked the cold snow and closed her flowers.
- No, it is mine and only mine. Go away!
Now the snow was so sad and sorry that he had to sit down. Then he saw a another beautiful little flower. It was a snowdrop.
- Now, you are the only one left to ask. I have not gotten any color. Would you please give me some of yours?
The snowdrop felt sorry for the snow.
Yes, I will, she replied, as gently as a spring breeze. The snowdrop gently scraped off a little bit of white. When the color hit the snow it spread out, and soon the snow stood in the most beautiful white gown one can imagine.
As a thank you the snow allows snowdrops to be the first flower that pleases us in the spring. Although the snow lays its veil over the snowdrop it will not get hurt as other flowers do.
If you look carefully you will discover that in the middle of snowdrops is still lacking a little bit of white color.

Hi Randi-- the 2 million views is a staggering amount of viewers!!! My gosh. I like this so much as I am partial to old parchment. I did find something similar to this today in my warehouse where I store old manuscripts, art, etc. Stunning. Love everything about this. L/F Thank you for your recent visit to my Children's galleries. FAV
